HOLLYWOOD, Fla-(December 15, 2008) A 79-year-old man from Coral Springs won $424,694.38 on a Bally Technologies "Quarter Million$," two-cent slot machine at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday afternoon, December 12. A 42-year-old woman from Lake Worth won $200,000 on an IGT "Double Double Bonus Poker" Vegas-style slot on Saturday.
The retiree, who preferred to remain anonymous, was extremely calm when the jackpot hit. He's a regular player at the Seminole Hard Rock and has won on the machine before. Joined by his wife, he said it's the biggest jackpot he's won to date and always returns to the play the "Quarter Million$" machines whenever he's at the casino.
He played a 125-credit maximum bet. The maximum bet must be played in order to win the progressive award. Progressive jackpots begin at $250,000. The $424,694.38 jackpot is the largest hit to date at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
This machine is an "area wide" progressive slot, meaning it's linked to other Indian casinos throughout the United States. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was the first casino in Florida to install these wide-area progressive slot machines in April, 2008.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino General Manager Larry Frank said the casino was even more electric as excited guests and Player's Club members witnessed winners hitting huge jackpots.

The large jackpot winning weekend continued on Saturday in the High-Limit room. She played the maximum bet and won with four aces and a "kicker."
